About The Clerk

Kathy Plyler Hendrix was sworn into office on December 30, 2008 as newly elected Clerk of Superior, State, and Juvenile Courts to proudly serve the citizens of Evans County.

The Superior Court, established under the Constitution of 1798, is the highest court in each circuit, and is a court of record which means that all records, documentation,and minutes filed in this office cannot be altered after filing.

The Clerk of Courts performs a wide range of duties which include record keeping, information management and financial management functions in the judicial system.as well as providing personnel court support to each Superior Court Judge.

Prior to taking office, Kathy served for 14 years in the Clerks office – beginning June 15, 1995 as deputy clerk, and then, for the last two years prior to election, as Chief Deputy Clerk.

A native and lifelong resident of Evans County, Kathy is a graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and Swainsboro Technical Institute, and is an active member of the Sikes Chapel United Methodist Church.  She and her husband, Carroll, have four children and four grandchildren. Kathy enjoys reading, traveling, and singing, but most especially, spending time with her family.

When asked about her position as Clerk, Kathy states “I am honored at the confidence the citizens of Evans County have placed in me. I will continue to maintain a strong commitment to my community and to providing exceptional customer service, always with dignity and respect to each individual.”
